Skool Community Ideas: How I Boosted Engagement and Re-Activated My Community

Are you struggling to keep your Skool community engaged? Let me share some Skool community ideas that helped me boost engagement and re-activate my community.

Facing Low Engagement in My Skool Community

I switched to the Skool community platform two months ago, hoping for a more engaged and interactive community. But things didn’t go as planned. Even my old Facebook group was more active than my new Skool community. Despite offering books as rewards and sharing valuable content, I couldn’t figure out why my clients weren’t as excited about it as I was.

When we took feedback from them, they didn’t feel anything special about the platform. I love Skool and was so excited to launch, but I needed to find a way to make my community more lively.

Seeking Help from Skool Experts

I reached out to Skool experts like Sam Ovens, Sid Sahasrabuddhe, and Nick Hauser for advice on how to re-activate my community and boost engagement.

Implementing Effective Skool Community Ideas

Here are the Skool community ideas they suggested that made a significant difference:

1. Create Engaging Patterns and Topics

Coming up with consistent patterns and topics for the group is essential. I introduced categories like celebration posts, finding accountability partners, practicing sales calls, meetups, and student interviews. Using the category feature in Skool made it easy to organize these topics. You can start with a few and add more over time.

2. Add Value as an Admin

As an admin, I started posting valuable content, recommending interesting resources, and actively answering group members’ questions. By filtering the community feed by “Newest,” I could quickly see who needed help and respond promptly.

3. Host Social Calls

I began hosting social calls where all members could join and discuss anything—from movies to music. I created catchy posts to announce these calls and used the “Email Broadcast” feature to let everyone know. Adding the events to the Calendar ensured that members didn’t miss out.

4. Encourage Climbing the Leaderboards

To motivate members, I continued offering gift prizes for the “top 3” members on the leaderboard. Rewards could be physical gifts or intangible but valuable experiences like one-on-one coaching sessions.

5. Welcome New Members

Welcoming new members personally made them feel valued. I created a category called “Introductions” and asked new members to post about themselves using this category. Other members often chimed in to welcome them, fostering a sense of community.

6. Increase Member Participation

I increased member participation by creating polls and posting questions that everyone could answer. This not only made the community more interactive but also provided valuable insights.

7. Update Classroom Content

If you have a Classroom set up, it’s a good idea to drop new modules whenever you can. Updating existing modules or adding new ones on updated strategies or new tools adds value to the group. Announcing the new content and using the “Pinned Post” feature keeps it visible to all members.

8. Host Weekly Calls

Weekly calls are super helpful. Recording them and sharing in the community using an “Admin-Only” category allows the discussion to continue, and members can ask follow-up questions.

Seeing the Results

By implementing these Skool community ideas, I noticed a significant increase in engagement. Members started interacting more, asking questions, and participating in discussions. The community became more lively and valuable for everyone involved.
